Hanging by a Thread
Craig Wilson, Madison photographer and kite flier will open a new show of
his work, called HANGING BY A THREAD; a kite's view.
Craig uses large kites to lift radio controlled cameras for very unique
views of the world. "Using a kite to lift my remote control camera
equipment, I maneuver my camera into unique vantage points to obtain
never before seen views of familiar subjects. As a kite builder and flyer
I like putting the kite to work, using it as a tool to lift my camera
equipment. This combination of kite and camera gives a magical quality to
a photograph and, as a photographer, I relish the ability to take my
camera to places where only birds and bugs go".
HANGING BY A THREAD will open November 7, 2003 and run through April 16,
2004 at the EAA AirVenture Museum, Hwy 41&44 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

KAPiSCO/04
A KAP holiday for a week touring Scotland. IT WILL BE A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY.
This event is for a limited number of serious KAPpers (and their partners), who want to have the opportunity to take aerial photographs at unforgettable, beautiful, and technically challenging locations.
KAPiSCO is about hard-core kite aerial photography. It is about travelling to a beautiful part of the world as a kite aerial photographer, and exploiting as much of your time there as possible to take wonderful aerial photos, increase your skills, and learn new approaches and techniques in your art. You will also incidentally be visiting some of the most amazing places which will leave a lasting impression on you.
There will be opportunity on a couple of evenings for short lectures. We intend though, that evenings will be spent absorbing local culture, sitting in pubs and listening to local music played by local musicians, or out getting those last aerial photos as the sun dips down towards the mountains with the lochside castle in the foreground.

KAPiSU/04
Last October's kite aerial photography conference, KAPiCA/03, was such a
success we're going to do another one. In Sumatra, Indonesia.
KAPiSU/04 will be organized by local KAPper Anshori Djausal. He will be supported by Wolfgang Bieck (organizer of FLiBB in 1993, 1996 and 2000) and Peter Bults (assistant to Brooks Leffler on KAPiCA/02 and /03).
KAPiSU/04 will be held in Bandar Lampung at the southern tip of the island of Sumatra. Bandar Lampung is a peaceful city that welcomes kite-flying visitors and KAPpers will be treated as members of the family. The programme will include information on the latest KAP news and on kite aerial photography techniques but emphasizes on practising KAP on unique locations: the Sumatra beaches and coastline villages, Anak Krakatau, the Bandar Lampung harbour and the Krakatau Festival.
After KAPiSU/04 you will have the opportunity to visit the world-famous Bali International Kite Festival.
